Wish I could do more to help.
I've known others in similar situations, and most often, at least on a temporary basis, the house was rented. Upside is that quite often you can actually come out ahead with the rent covering more than the payment. The downside is that if you are nowhere near the property, you have to have someone fill in for problems and when people move out/in. Then there's the chance of the place getting trashed. It all depends on your situation, as well as a bit of luck.

I've decided to take the job--I officially accepted today. Damn the consequences--full speed ahead.
I am going to try to get someone in here to rent if it doesnt sell. If worse comes to worse we do a short sale. It's far from ideal, but what ya gonna do?
