Though I do consume alcohol, I have am often bothered by people who view it as an activity (i.e. "let's go drinking tonight"). I enjoy spending time with my friends in cozy or open places and often with a drink in hand. However, the primary goal of said activity is to spend time with friends. Listening to music
Last Friday, Spec and I saw Beirut in concert at BAM. They are very fun to watch live and it was a great show. But the show made me realize something about the way I listen to music now versus ten years ago. (It is kind of scary to be able to say that).

Today I decided to take a sick day to treat the illness I call "exhaustion." I've pretty much been goingoingoing at work for the entire month of January. The next task on my docket is to write up minutes for various meetings. This does not really appeal to me, so I'll waste some time here by writing...something else instead! Election Day!
So...I voted and now I have no idea what to do with myself. There is work to be done, but I certainly can't focus on it. I've plugged my ears with WNYC so I am hearing reports of the long lines throughout New York (including at Starbucks across the city).

This year for vacation, Spec and I took a week off together and just staying in NYC. After all, people come here for vacation, so why not save some money on travel and see the city ourselves as tourists of sorts. That was the original plan, anyway. A Quick Trip
I will be making a quick trip to Philadelphia this week. I will arrive super late on Thursday and will be leaving on Sat in the late afternoon. I hope to see some of you! -
I finally finished a book
It seems like it has been several months since I have actually finished a book. In fact, I am not sure if I can remember the specific book that I last finished. That is sort of a sad fact. I guess that's what cutting the commute out of my life has done for me. Oh well, at least I am walking more.
