I have a group of friends all planning on going, and had some free lodging set up. I meant to buy the ticket before the election when it was $200. Two days after the election, they were over $600. I was talking to peeps last night, and apparently not only are almost all planes full, most of the buses and trains coming into the city are full also. That may (unfortunately) decide it for you.
That said, it's a historic event, and there'll never be anything else like it. Plus, they extended liquor serving hours for all bars till 5am in the DC area, so it'll be a huge party! If my wallet could afford the airfare, I'd be there in a second. And to march in the parade?! That is just awesome. Guess I'm voting that you should do it (and take lots of pictues!)
I could always fly into another city (Newark? Philadelphia?) and just rent a car and drive down. LGBA is arranging hotel and rooming situations for us, so I don't have to worry about the logistics of that, at least.
Well, being that you voted for him and are in love with him, for you it would indeed be the opportunity of a lifetime. On the otherhand it's expensive. So you just have to weigh out for yourself how much it's worth to you.
