In Quantum Leap, did they ever establish how far in the future Sam came from? I can't remember.

If I'm correct (it's been a while since I watched the show) it started off as 1999. I think.

According to Wikipedia, the beginning of the show is set in 1995. However, reading the Quantum Leap Wikipedia entry has made me aware of all of the things I did totally wrong in my story, so I'm now going to pretend it doesn't exist. *buries head in sand*
