Introducing kitties?

Hello listers, I know this isn't the exact point of this board but I need to ask it.

The neighbor abandoned her young cat (I figure around 2 yrs) and we are feeding it etc outdoors.  (As we have a cat and dog already).

We (the humans) are willing to adopt kitty, but the 11 year old neutered male cat who runs the home (of course!) is not impressed.

I don't have time to type much this morning, but everything I learned about cat introductions I got from cats.about.com - the forums there are awesome. The key is tiny, tiny baby steps. And with an older, territorial cat, Feliway mighthelp - it's hideously expensive in stores, but not too bad if you order online. Omaha vaccine usually has the best prices. It made a big difference for my boys.
