Introducing kitties?
Hello listers, I know this isn't the exact point of this board but I need to ask it.
The neighbor abandoned her young cat (I figure around 2 yrs) and we are feeding it etc outdoors. (As we have a cat and dog already).
We (the humans) are willing to adopt kitty, but the 11 year old neutered male cat who runs the home (of course!) is not impressed.

SWEET POISON.....The dangers of Aspertame
Aspartame and other food additives...I often wonder if the people who create and sell the products that have ingredients that they know are dangerous (msg, aspartame etc) go home and feed their families, esp their children, the crap that their companies develop and sell. Here is another link on yet another food additive that is poisoning people.

Birds and birding-house sparrow weaver finch
Good grief...I know I'm a novice to birding, but (I wouldn't have thought) who would have thought it would have taken me almost a week of relatively constant searching to identify the type of several birds that come to our feeder every day?

Hm....for some reason we seem to have a Green-tailed Towhee visiting our feeder. For those who read my journal, this is the bird that had the reddish/peachy head, blue throat and greenish wings that I couldn't identify before. The one who hangs out with the male goldfinches.
