Electrical storms are no longer hot-face. And here's why:

So Nicolas and I get home from playing pool with K. and C., get ready for bed and crawl in for the night. Sometime during this, Shorty calls and we proceed to chat it up. I finally did it. I went on stage. I put it on the line. I did it.

And a week later, I'm still smiling. It's funny, before I went on stage... everyone kept giving me those knowing smiles. They'd pat me on the back and say... I remember my first time on stage.

 I am grateful this week for:

1. Shaky legs and strong arms. 
2. Cheek rubs.
3. Fellowship found in unlikely canidates.
4. His understanding, even when I'm finding it hard to be understanding of myself. 
5. One step at a time. 
6. Busy weekends and finding time to make them busier ;)
7. My Dad. He's kind of amazing and I forget that sometimes.

 So... I thieved Nicolas' copy of Gender Outlaw and have been reading it since.. oh.. this morning. But it (naturally) made me think about gender... about what it means.. and about my own ( Read more... )
