Hey ladies (and whatever guys may be here!), our Gabe has been back for three days, and has been pretty awesome so far. He is 3/6 in H/AB, with some pretty awesome catches. Hopefully he'll see more playing time than "every once in a while". He seemed enthralled to be back, and was very touched by the crowd.
I sent an e-mail to the Gabe Kapler foundation, and I got a reply back. Check my personal journal if you really want to see it..um but wow this is amazing.
Red Sox signed outfielder Gabe Kapler to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Kapler still had money coming to him as a result of the deal he agreed to when he rejoined the Red Sox last year, so he didn't shop himself around as a free agent. He'll try to return from a torn Achilles' in May.
"The Red Sox will soon announced the re-signing of Gabe Kapler to a minor league contract. A source close to the outfielder told the Boston Herald than Kapler hopes to return from a torn Achilles' in early May."
"Gabe Kapler has yet to officially re-sign with the Red Sox, but he is expected in spring training with the team. Kapler isn't expected to be ready to play in games because of the torn Achilles' tendon he suffered last September. If he gets healthy in May or June, he'll probably rejoin the Red Sox as a reserve."
