Sep 07, 2013 12:43

It's Saturday Evening, and the sun is sending red-orange rays across the tranquil beach. Spread out across the white sand, is a large table of food, filled with an array of snacks and finger foods. A small bonfire pit exists in the corner and the fire slowly flickers as the light gets dimmer. There are towels and chairs scattered across the beach, ( Read more... )

Sanada frowned into the flames, letting the heat wash over him in the fading light. Despite himself, setting up for this had been a lot more fun than expected. He did hope that everybody enjoyed themselves for the rest of this as well. Maybe he'd manage to have fond memories of this, even with the games that Niou had planned.

...if he was honest, he wasn't sure if they'd get a chance to relax like this again, so he was grateful they had that chance now. He tossed another block of charcoal onto the fire and watched it hiss, relishing in the feel of the flame.

Yukimura grabbed two bottles of water from the food table and shuffled through the sand towards the bonfire. He saw Sanada and frowned a little. The whole purpose of this party was so they could relax a bit and forget about the fact they were here, but it seemed that having fun was the farthest thing from Sanada's mind. Once he got close enough, Yukimura squatted down then poked Sanada in the cheek.

"No more frowning," he ordered. "Straight face or smiles all night. No exceptions." He held out a bottle of water and smiled. "See? It's easy."

Sanada tossed Yukimura an almost incredulous look at the order, but accepted the water, with a murmured "Thanks." and a small grateful smile.

"I was wondering whether we should have done something like this back in Kanagawa? Having a beach party after we won last year at Nationals?" he explained, as he leant into Yukimura's side a bit more. "It might have been interesting."

Seven boys sat in a circle of chairs with a stool in the middle. There was a bottle on the stool. "A pure, untampered bottle," Niou stressed, smiling at Yukimura. He really had kept his promise of not weighing the bottle in his favor.

He cleared his throat and looked all official as he spoke. "Ya spin the bottle and kiss whoever it points towards. Kiss for ten seconds, nobody's takin' time but if it's way too short then ya have to french kiss. An' if ya spin the bottle towards the same guy a second time, it has to be a french kiss, too. Or jus' pretend to french kiss, but at least try to look passionate so we can buy it. I'm bein' real lenient here, didn't even include any rules 'bout strippin ( ... )

"This is a stupid game." Kirihara muttered from his chair, scowling all around but especially in the direction of one platinum headed trickster. "Why do we have to play a girl game like that?" He turned wide green eyes on the other sempai-tachi surrounding him. "Can't we tell ghost stories or something?"

"Who said this is a girl's game?" Marui poked at him, although he was rather dissatisfied with that first round. Not that he wanted to be the one to get that first kiss.

Renji wasn't much of a cook, however, he had something he could add to the mixture of wonderful creations. Marui had outdone himself it seemed. He could bet the more traditional fare was there because of Sanada. He secretly approved.

Quietly, he sat down a small thermos. Inside of it was tea. Normal tea. He thought it would be a good addition and offset the cakes.

Yukimura sidled up next to Yanagi looking at the various offerings. Of course Marui had covered half the table in sugary confections, but they looked really good.

"Please tell me that's tea," Yukimura said, picking up the thermos and an empty cup.

He was aware of Yukimura's approach. His smile brightened a degree at the arrival of his captain at the table. At the request, he nodded and unscrewed the lid for Seiichi.

"I took the liberty of making some before I came. I know you've been wanting proper tea. This is the best I can do given the means of transporting it. I will promise you, however, that you will get real tea from me eventually.
