The average American eats 31.5 pounds of cheese per year, including 10 pounds of mozarella.

No wonder this country is so fat.

I eat my annual quota in about a week. Give me fresh mozzarella found in a Caprese Salad...give me feta, swiss, or any damn cheese that has peppers all through it, and you've found my worst vice. (OK, aside from the rare Marlboro Light.) In my Golden Years, way down the road, I'm sure a doctor will tell me "you gotta lay off the cheese..." and I will tell him to go fuck himself, or however that will be expressed in 2040. Behold the power of cheese.

You are shocked by the cheese, but not the number of times people eat french fries and other friend foods in a month? Or that most of the population gets no physical activity? I think the cheese is one of the least of our concerns.

See, I just think, cheese is heavy. 31 lbs is about .6lbs/week. I have bought a half of a 1/2 lb of provolone. It really isn't that much.

right, or 1.38 ounces a day. not much at all. justin and i probably eat two or three times that amount. cheese is good for you and YUMMY! i agree that there are other things (hamburgers, pizza, soda, candy) that are of more concern than cheese. i think 31 pounds of cheese a year isn't enough!
