Because I am nowhere near my grandmother or other family for New Year's this year, it will be the first new year I celebrate without vasilopita.  I considered trying to make it myself, but I think that would be a recipe for disaster.

A couple of weekends ago when we were (the only people) hanging out at Galaxy Hut for my LOTD thing, I was jokingly giving the bartender a hard time for not carding me. Stuck in Virginia Beach. Four inches of snow, and it's still coming down hard. Hopefully I will be able to drive back by tomorrow afternoon. Is there snow in DC?

The craziest thing just happened to me.

Before I left for work this morning, I went to the main apartment building in my complex to get some coffee. As I was getting out of my car, I saw Pat getting out of a car right next to me, and I started to walk up to him to ask what he was still doing there. It's amazing how much a good cup of coffee, some good tunes, and a morning run (not necessarily in that order) can really improve your outlook on an otherwise crappy day.

Since I graduated from college, I've had four different addresses.  While all my other mail seems to get lost, the one institution that always seems to know exactly where I am is the University of Virginia.  Not only that, they always know what my current phone number is.
