Saw a couple of comments elsewhere on his appearance.
They were angsting because he looked so thin and "delicate" --

But having seen him more than once, skinny is Gale's usual
condition, as many of you can attest to. His legs are sticks
and his face is "delicate" -- that's not recovery, that's
Gale's look.
