I lied about something. It happened a while ago, but I kept up the secret from someone who did not - who does not - deserve to have secrets kept from hir. Now the issue is coming to head, and I could easily keep lying. I can't, though, because of my guilt complex the size of Canada. Besides, no one deserves to be lied to about something, well.....

I will say that lying is just something that weighs on you long after the lie's revealed. It hurts. Truth is painful, and sometimes also has fucked up consequences, but it doesn't continue to eat away at you like acid.

I think that since you can't keep up the hidden-ness of whatever happened, it might be better for all parties involved to just come clean. It may/will be painful for all parties involved, but I've come to realize that the truth is (90%) the best way to go, especially since it's a big thing (at least that's what I'm gathering).

Since I have no idea what is really going on, I'll offer this general advice:

If you constantly have the feeling you did something wrong, there's a good chance you did. If so, fix it. If no, figure out why you feel that way.
