I talked to Curmudgeon about the impending tariffs and gave him my opinion that if he wants to get a new car, we should probably do it soon. Put simplistically, tariffs raise prices on exports, but even if we got a domestic car, domestic manufacturers would see rising foreign car prices as an opportunity to raise their prices. The fallout from the issue the controller messed up that I wrote about a few days ago (plus other related issues) I have been dreading has come to pass. I thought I was going to have to work tomorrow, but I think I got it all figured out and taken care of. Whew!

Led a meeting of six people at work today, all but one of whom were above me on the food chain. Went well, though. Boss approved my PTO for Hawaii (officially). I wonder if we can use our airline miles that week, though. I forgot they may have blackout dates. Uh-oh.

We loved The Queen’s Gambit. The story (which is about a young woman who plays chess but is not about chess, a game which I can't stand!) was great, the sense of the era was terrific, and the clothes! The makeup!

Curmudgeon set up his work laptop in the kitchen. He wanted to work from home to avoid icy roads and use the 40” TV in there as a 2nd monitor, LOL. He is resourceful.
