I know that planning a wedding always has its stressful moments, but it takes on a new level of undue annoyance when both partners come from broken families. My joke is that my wedding will have to have a "Dad's Side" and a "Mom's Side" instead of a "Bride's Side" and a "Groom's Side".

It isn't a big Hatfields/McCoys sort of thing. Besides having to sit my parents, as well as her parents, on opposite ends of the room, I'm sure it'll turn out to be a pretty awesome shindig. I've had several people from both sides of my family come up to me and tell me they can't wait to see certain people again because the last time they saw each other was when I was 10 or 12 years old and they really want to catch up.

Oh gods, I can only imagine how tweaked you guys are. It sounds like you've both done a great job of keeping the family at bay...but if all else fails just go all Bridezilla and Groomzilla on them! It's your big day after all!
