Today, the 6th of September, is National Read a Book Day in the US.

It's a day that encourages everyone to take some time out of their busy lives to read a book. It's also a reminder of the joy and importance of reading, as well as an opportunity to promote literacy and a love for literature.

I have been reading Prophet by Helen McDonald and ( Read more... )

As if I'd need a special day to read a book! 😁😁😁

I'm reading Murder at Kensington Palace, the 3rd book in the Sloane & Wexford series by Andrea Penrose.

Oh, I know, every day is read a book day!

Have you read any of Jim Eldridge's books? He has a couple of murder mystery series set in various places in London. There's a museum one starting with Murder at the Fitzwilliam, a hotel one starting with Murder at the Ritz, and a Tube station one that starts with Murder at Aldwych Station. The museum series is set in the 1890s, while the other two are the 1940s.

How fitting that today I didn't go home during lunch break but instead went to the lake nearby and started reading the first of the Bridgerton series by Julie Quinn. Julia Quinn? By J. Quinn.

Very fitting! It must have been nice to spend your lunch break by the lake, even without the reading.

I'm reading the book The Human Origins of Beatrice Porter and Other Essential Ghosts and catching up on the manga Yona of the Dawn, and both are very good!

It shocks me when I hear people say they never read, or they *gasp* hate reading.

I just finished Code Girls by Liza Mundy, and just started Home Made by Liz Hauck.

When I went back to college recently, towards the end of the course we had mock interviews to prepare us for actual interviews. One of the questions we were all asked was what book we were reading. I was the only one of the class who was actually reading anything, the rest just had no interest in it at all. It was mindboggling.

ACK!! Even if not books, read magazines or SOMETHING. I learn so much from reading. How can they not care?

Oh absolutely! I think one of the lads regularly got a Photoshop magazine, this being a graphic design course, but that was it. They were all about 18 or so, so I don't know if that was any reason for it, but I couldn't get my head round it.

A couple days late, but I’m currently reading There’s No Such Thing as an Easy Job by Kikuko Tsumura
