Does anyone have experience with comparison-shopping for car insurance? I checked out a couple of online "get a quote now" kinds of things but I don't know how much I trust those. I think we're paying too much though, and it'd be nice not to be wasting money right now with the whole potential imminent layoff situation.

Your best bet may be to call the different companies. I have found insurance salespeople to be very patient and helpful about the many questions I had when I first got my own car insurance

I will check into all of those things. Thanks a ton! For some reason I always find dealing with insurance issues to be fairly overwhelming and I usually don't know where to start, so that is all very helpful.
