[and after some time of walking and going through fat slimey aliens that smell like cabbages, maka finally picks up a familiar wavelength up ahead. And when she starts to see his hair, she picks up the pace.]

[ Kid looks up as his name is called, although his movements seem sluggish; between the Book and the ordeal in the admittance office... but that's not enough to dampen the obvious relief at seeing Maka, familiar and most importantly, unharmed. ]

Part way along, he squeezes her hand briefly. ]

[she glances over her shoulder, then a smile. maka returns the squeeze and says soothingly;]

It's good to see you too, Kid. I know this is pretty confusing and it's going to get even more confusing once I explain things, but -- one thing you don't have to worry about is Noah and the Book of Eibon.
