[Video] 32

How is it that the Guide's information can be so casual about the God that controls this place? [Yes, Atem is wandering the new planet because ... well, aside from that whole God thing it seems rather normal. And mishaps with crazy vengeful Gods? Can't count him out on that. His crystal, not that he seems to notice or care about it, is hovering ( Read more... )

[Oh my, that's... well. There's something.]

Atem?

Does this world remind you of your own?

[He looks around again. It only takes him a moment to answer.]

No.

I see... it looks much different from Nippon as well. I just hear many claiming that this world seems 'familiar'.

It's got all the makings of a normal world, I think. Sunshine, houses, roads, cities. Nothing mystical or magical about it really; except for the animals and the people and their so-called vengeful God. [He's obviously been exploring. Whether or not he has done this with every single world they've come across is up for good speculation.]

((OOC: Rest well!))

Hmm... that God troubles me. From what the Guide says, this God has no consideration for their worshipers.

Worshiping, if that's what they are doing, is having no effect obviously. If it's just a cruel God there's not much that can be done about it. [A pause.]

Though this does reinforce the fact that most, if not all, planets seem to have their own different deities. ....I wonder if that means every place has its own afterlife?

That's what it seems like. It makes me worried for this world's inhabitants...

[She nods at that.] I wonder if it's possible to contact these deities and ask them.

[Sorry he's kind of about to go off on his own tangent here.]

If that.... does that mean that when a world is destroyed, the particular afterlife attached to it is destroyed as well? All the dead inhabiting it? [He seems particularly upset all of a sudden.]

[Nuregami actually pauses for a moment, considering.]

That... is something I am not sure about. But... there are people here who claim they have died, and yet are here now... right?

[He was supposed to be dead. Where does that put him? He gives a dull nod.]

People that are supposed to be dead, Gods, Goddesses- it seems everything that should be cemented is easily ripped apart just like anything else. [Where does that leave him? His family? Friends? Gods? It's suddenly implanted a very uneasy feeling in his stomach.]

That seems to be true... [She remembers everyone back home, on the Celestial Plane. All of her brothers and sisters...]

But those realms, the afterlife, the heavens... they cannot be truly gone.

Some might say that about their worlds. What proof do we have for or against it in the long run? [The longer they talk the more his PlumbBob slips from yellow into red. His tone and body language, however, betrays nothing, maintaining a calm neutral. He has always had a good poker face.]

[She notices the change, but she decides not to comment on it.]

It's true that we don't have proof, but we must have faith that our worlds are out there, or that they can be restored. The same way that we have faith that our friends and families are safe, and that we will be reunited someday. Without faith, we are simply lost.

[It should be a comforting statement. Her words certainly resonate with how he had been feeling ever since he got here. They might have even been words he would say to a friend here.

He falls into a silence as he thinks about it. Destiny had always, while not seemed fair, led him on his rightful course. Was this part of destiny, too? Or had such an intricate and simple thing been destroyed along with his Gods, his afterlife and his world?

...and since when had he started believing his world was destroyed? Internal conflict ahoy. He realizes after a few moments that he hasn't said a word and exhales a slow breath.]

I suppose so. [A completely weak response but he has nothing better.]

[Such a weak response worries Nure, and her tongue flicks out thoughtfully. That little diamond is still red, after all...]

Are you waiting for someone as well?
