Does anyone here celebrate special or commemorative days from home, such as birthdays, holy days, or anniversaries?

What dates do you reckon by?

I don't normally celebrate holidays at all.

Where I come from, they are very important. Is it different in your world?

They're pretty important in mine too, but I just don't really pay attention to the date most of the time so I tend to miss them or sleep through them.

You just miss them?

Back at home they celebrated a day called 'The Day of the Rose'

This is not something I've heard of. What does it entail?

It's a day to celebrate one's parents. As my friend B once said, it's like Mothers Day and Fathers Day put together.

That sounds like a wonderful thing to celebrate. Our parents did so much for us.

I do birthdays, mostly. There was also Christmas last year that everybody celebrated, though it was more the gift-giving and goodwill thing rather than the religious celebration.

There are also a lot of Japanese festivals that get observed here, mostly because someone goes through the effort to set something up so everyone can celebrate it.

I have trouble thinking that six months is enough time for me to age one year. Is there no religious aspect to Chirstmas at all?

What kind of festivals?

I think Christmas lost its religious aspect some time ago. At least to most people.

As for festivals, there was the flower viewing festival, the tanabata festival, New year's day, and a few others. I've heard the Drive itself celebrated Halloween back in October, though I wasn't here for that.

Not for me.

It sounds like it may be very different than what I am used to.

I celebrate birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries from home.

Since being here, I have also started celebrating other holidays I didn't at home.

Holidays are so much fun ✰

So it is just as usual. Are there holidays specific to the ship?

Not yet! But I'd celebrate those too!

I see. Most people don't get so excited.

What do people do for birthdays here?

Birthdays, various holidays from Japan. The usual, really.

I would say a Japanese holiday is not usual for me.

Ah, well... I meant more for myself and my family.
