Does anyone here celebrate special or commemorative days from home, such as birthdays, holy days, or anniversaries?

What dates do you reckon by?

I don't but I've still got dragged into celebrations by a friend.

Just use the Guide's calender otherwise you'll just get everything messed up.

Why are you bringing this up all of a sudden?

[She glances around, pursing her lips at him.]

I'll just go by the ship's calendar, I suppose. But... you're being nosy.

And you wouldn't bring this up if there wasn't an immediate reason for it.

...My birthday falls around this time of year. I was wondering how to figure my age in relation to how long I have been here. It was an idle thought.

This, and were I reckoning by my own days, I would have missed Christmas. That isn't excusable at all.

A few, actually. Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's day, and most important of all, my birthday.

So yours are at least similar to the ones I have seen.

I'm very bad at birthdays. I'm always busy.

That's not surprising; all popular holidays, those. I expect loads of people celebrate them here.

Depends who's birthday it is, but they're generally fun. Or, if not, you have to make it fun. The best birthdays are always the ones that you can only remember parts of. Could be said about any holiday, really.

It seems many people share Christmas, and some sorts of festivals that are observed here are popular. Perhaps as expected, people are still excited about their birthdays as well.

No, I can't blame them at all. It's just strange that my birthday was five months ago... And now, here it is again.

Every ten years we have the Devil Ball. And every four years we have the Blue Night.

What are these?

Devils balls can be a pain in the ass, but we must do them to praise our gods and show them our thanks. We give them food - we also eat - and we dance. The downside is mostly the stupid clothes.

And the Blue Night is when two Magic Users become partners. Each signs a contract with the Devil, and a copy of the contract is placed inside of each and they become partners for the next four years.

I don't celebrate but I acknowledge holiday dates from my world.

Christmas, New Year, Easter, obviously birthdays.

They seem very common here. I'm a little surprised, as I'd thought I had seen more people from other worlds.

Because most refugees are from "Earth" or a similar planet.

Yes, it seems like they are, after all.
