Eurovison tragic...

So SBS television just showed the first semi final for Eurovision. It was lots of fun. Australia gets to vote in an unofficial poll, and although we've not seen all the songs yet, Greece and Serbia came no. 1 and 2 respectively. Not sure if Greece came no. 1 because of the large Greek population in Australia, or the attractive men with the low cut

I loved Belgiums entry as well. It was so simple and intimate somehow, just a man and his guitar :)

It is not a sin to say that you like men with beards! No matter how long they are *giggle* Of course Viggo was very sexy in LOTR. I don't like him cleanshaven at all.

You are right about Belgium - intimate is a good word for the song.
Viggo does look better with a bit of beard.

I think it's great you mention the Belgian song, eventhough I can't stand it at all =P It's been on the radio every hour here for the past couple of months and I just don't really like it either. It's too "hipster" for my tastes you know, "oh look I can play the guitar" like everyone's supposed to these days. But despite all that, I think that objectively seen it's the best we send in ages and it actually has potential to score well for once.

And yeah, stubble's the best ;) Though I'm quite into real beards as well, it's just that not many guys can pull it off. My boyfriend can, though, LOL =P Oh and, I second gentle_dream's comment on not liking Viggo cleanshaven!

heh. I'm not sure how the song would translate onto the radio - I'm gonna have to find it online and listen to it as an mp3 or something! I think because it's so stripped back that it works as well - no trying to charm people with the extra stuff like dancing.

Exactly, that's really the point behind the song, which I definitely approve of.

Yeah, I know Viggo from LotR (as does everyone I suppose) and then someday I saw a pic of him without the scruff and I was like "HUH?! that can't be him!" =P Really looks a lot different, also the long hair really adds to the yumminess =P

I haven't watched the semi finals ... and I probably won't even watch the actual event tomorrow as I'm planning to go out. We'll see!

i missed the first semi-finales because i had to work.
It's sweet of you to say you love the Belgian song. I saw it in a flash on the news and it was indeed just a man and his guitar on stage.
I saw the second half finales (partly) and i must say, it was a lot of yelling. I didn't like the songs very much.

The Belgium song was great Bie. There was a lot of power ballad shrieking in the second round - not my thing :-(
