[Recumbent in the nest of blankets piled in the corner of the dining room, reading a shredded magazine he found in the gutter and chewing on something that may have been of vegetable origin. Flips through the ragged book disinterestedly, then glances up sharply as an unfamiliar sounds pervades the damp silence.]
The hell...?
[Moves to the broken window, pulling aside the soaking sheet that serves to cover it, and squints down into the street.]
[She hears a voice and moves closer to the broken window it came out from. Looking upwards, she notices someone right behind it. The man doesn't look like the one she's supposed to meet, but still, it's better to make sure.]
[Lowers her head a bit, disappointed that she got the house wrong. It doesn't last long though. She doesn't like intruding in other people's "houses", but she dislikes being wet even more.]
Alright!
[She rushes inside. He was right about it not being that warm, but she'll manage. At least it's dry.]
My name is Lillith. Thanks for letting me wait out the rain here, uh...

Me? Nah. Nick. Never heard of this Tex.
Sorry. Uh - why don't you try down there?
[Gestures in a vague westerly direction, then briefly appraises the stranger, chewing his lower lip indecisively. Leans out a little further.]
Hey, look, uh... you want to come in? Pretty wet out. It's not much warmer up here, but it's dry.
[Scratches his chin and waves a hand.]
Well, in one corner, anyway.
[Eyes narrow.]
If you're coming up, watch the stairs. Middle's rotten. Walk on the sides. If not, catch you later.
[Withdraws inside.]
