Happy Birthday on Wednesday
I'll be leaving for LA very early Wednesday morning as my flight is at 6:00 am. I've been quite out of sorts as lightning fried my computer at work, but left the server, which was plugged into the same surge protector, unscathed. I'm just feeling like I'm starting to get back to 'normal,' yet I'm now behind and then leaving for three days. ( Read more... ) -
northward bound
Away from all the modern conveniences (except electricity, running water, and air conditioning) to the trailer we head in an hour. Will be nice to have 5 days up there. I really feel so far behind in all my friends' lives on LJ. Hang in there - you are not forgotten, I assure you! Have a great week and weekend! -

Wonderful Weekend (a few days late...)
We just had the most awesome weekend!
Thursday night, about 10:30 a friend from Tucson, Tanya, flew in for the weekend. Tanya and I had worked together at Beacon in Tucson for only 3 months and we never did anything outside of work, so her coming to visit was very special for me; Scott may have met her in passing visiting me at work once or twice.

Horrific Tragedy
While I've yet to know of anyone who was on the bridge as it collapsed or anyone whose family member may have been, I can't help but feel the ax will fall. A tragedy such as this will illustrate how well the 6 degrees of separation can work. A very dear friend was within 150 feet of crossing the bridge at the time it collapsed, but he is fine. LA BOUND!
We'll be in LA Wednesday, August 22 through Saturday the 25th; we leave bright and early on Sunday morning. I arrive around noon on Wednesday. Scott has to work Wed., Thursday day and evening, and Friday. We're staying in Rancho Cucamonga. So, what can I see in the area and who likes being a tour guide?
