My doctor.

Jul 28, 2009 17:36

I went to the doctor today.

I have a mole that the doctor thinks is cancerous. Way to go, Gab.
And I have patella femoral syndrome. Which is code for: I walk funny so my knee is all screwed up.

They had lovely wallpaper though!

I had three gut reactions to this, and they came in this order, within the space of about two seconds:
1. Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap. I love you and I hope you are all right, holy crap.
2. I need to go to the doctor and have my mysterious mole checked out, because I've been pushing it into the back of my mind for years.
3. Who has wallpaper these days? Of course Gabby would, she's got that kind of class.

And walk funny like how? I'm pigeon toed but I've yet to hear of patella femoral syndrome, and am too scaredy to look it up on Google this early.

I want to say more.

Gabby, I love you and I hope all the dust settles in the best, healthy, way.

1) I'm sure its all going to be fine. They're just gonna cut it off and send it to the lab. If it IS anything serious, I think i'm young enough that nothing has spread too far.

2)Do it. Its good to know what to be worried about. The three main factors that you should look for are:
1-there are different colors to the mole
2-it is not very defined (not raised)
3-it is not symmetrical
If i remember, you're moly like me, so get em checked, brotha!

3)PFS is more common in girls for some reason. I dunno why. I think its okay to be pigeon toed (although the doctor was really firm about just learning to walk right in general, so get on that danny! haha). I have super high arches so I walk/run on the outsides of my feet making them point outward. In doing so, I have pushed my kneecaps (patella) out of alignment so that my femur(thigh bone) is eroding away the cartilage surrounding my knee joint. And that is patella femoral syndrome :)

Thank you for being so concerned! :D

I am pretty moly. I like that we have that in common. haha

And I rather like my pigeonosity.

And you've earned the concern.
