When travelling alone for business, it turns out that it's really hard to carry clothing, a laptop, a purse and an electric wheel. Huh, who knew?

Ok, not really.  I won a 19" Reeves Saxony.  An original, made by Rick Reeves himself, signed and dated 19" Saxony!  Oh dear god What have I gotten myself into?

Overnight the fleece I washed yesterday dried. I brought it in and started to pick it to run it through the drum carder.

Today I washed two and a half ounces of silver merino fleece. I took about a half hour to heavily skirt the fleece into three bags. One bag now holds "skirtings", or wool from the legs, neck and rear end. This wool is shorter, and darker than the blanket fleece. It also has some heavy VM in places. I spun through 8 oz of fiber this weekend.  I have four bobbins that need to be plied together.  I'm so proud of myself!

Tomorrow I'll ply and wash the yarn.  Then I'm going to put some BFL on the wheel, I think.  Some Spunky Eclectic in "Burning Bush".

Photos to come tomorrow, when there's some sunlight to illuminate my four pretty bobbins.

I'm spinning up a smooshy Corriedale wool from Spunky Eclectic. This will be double plied into a light bulky weight yarn. I hope that this will replace my mobius scarf, which desperately needs to be retired.  I have a total of 8 oz, and I fit about 3 oz on the bobbin here.
