I was kind of the opposite. I made about $16,000 last year before taxes, and at first I was shocked that I made so little until I realized that I had over 2 months without employment, and only part-time employment during the fall quarter.

Then I started wondering how I managed to live on such little money. Good ol' student loans!

well, the upside to living with my parents is not having to wonder how i manage to live on so little money.

of course, the downside to living with my parents is LIVING WITH MY PARENTS.

I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to take another class over the summer or work as many hours as humanly possible at Starbucks and save up some money. I feel like either option would drive me equally crazy.

Money goes away quickly. Don't think you're alone in the Money Management Lack-of-Skills, because that's a problem for most people, including (especially) yours truly. I can tell you where the money went: it's hanging in your closet, it went to Bickford's a few times, your good friend Jose Cuervo borrowed it. One time I sat down at the end of the month and calculated where all my money went that month, and it was mostly food and alcohol.

...See you this weekend!

Money takes its friends with it when it leaves.

A $200 round-trip plane ticket to visit Erin ends up being a lot more. Because I justify like $10 in various magazines, $30 for a new DS game for the plane, snacks, a coffee at Starbucks before I go, and probably eating out the night before because I would rather relax.

Same thing when you go to the movies, and inevitably end up also eating out with your friends before/after.

Then again, what is money for, if you can't spend it to entertain yourself?
