Set two years post-Blood and Treasure, this is for
felaine who suggested that "Caroline needs some romance too...[and] I'd love to know how she'd react to the Caribbean."
This is also for the "twist" drabble challenge prompt at
blackpearlsails, though at over 3,000 words it's somewhat beyond a drabble.

> “She’s a guest, darling. You’ll be civil or I’ll put you over my knee, savvy?”
She kicked him. <
Hey, settle down, you two! :D
> “What, have you attempted to scale the ramparts?” George grinned as Weatherby sputtered. <
It seems the Sparrows have no patent on indiscreet behavior. :S
> “And if see how she flies means you’ll attempt to bed her, all I can say is that it’s an outrageous suggestion! Immoral in the extreme..." <
How so? They're both unmarried.
> “Did Hayes teach you that? To devalue yourself.” <
Suddenly I'm feeling sorry for poor Caroline- there's a switch!
> "I’m so sorry to appear astonished, but I wouldn’t have thought…”
“I wouldn’t have thought, either. Before.” <
Nor me. That George is a smooth operator!
> “I won’t take Weatherby’s money. It’s gone beyond that, I fear.” <
And a Gentleman after all.
Thanx much, for a delightful sequel!

He's fun to write as a contrast to his brother, and the dynamic between the three siblings is interesting to explore.
I'm so glad you liked this, and that I was able to convince you that there's a different side of Caroline. *g*
Many thanks for commenting -- and so quickly yesterday, too! You made my morning!

You know, we all are invested in whatever we think gives ourselves worth. And if having everything just so is your source of self-worth...
Very true. Sometimes it comes down to really simple things, too, and so we're reluctant to make even small changes in routine.
I'm so glad you liked this story, thank you again for commenting.

I'm happy I could make it believable and fun -- Caroline was certainly not the most sympathetic of characters in her previous appearances.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting -- I really appreciate it.

Hee! I'm so happy you enjoyed that, and that I was able to make this unlikely romance believable, too.
And George, telling the truth about his wager and Still pulling off the way of it
George is a very charming fellow, when he puts his mind to it. ;)
Thank you so very much for reading and for the detailed comments.
