Oh, No Wedding Planning

Jun 02, 2013 01:42

I swear, I'm going to talk about something other than wedding planning here soon, especially now that we've picked a date. It's just been wedding-a-palooza here lately. It's been a little annoying because I've had a lot of writing to do, but haven't gotten any of it done. Last Saturday at the bridal shop we bought this wedding organizer, which is ( Read more... )

All this planning is scaring me and I'm not even getting married. And I thinks mothers generally get very excited about these things and they want everything to be perfect even if their idea of perfect isn't your idea of perfect.

Ultimately though, it's your and Mike's day so it's about what you want.

PS: We expect you to post about wedding things. So post away.

Oh, man, so much to think about! I hope things go smoothly between now and next August and the moms don't drive you totally nuts.

Thanks! I'm sure they will drive me crazy but I'm hoping I learn how to handle it. :)

Firstly, you can easily spend that much money on your wedding, if you include the honeymoon in that budget, you can spend that much really easily. I did and that didn't include the honeymoon. And while I'm laying it out, I'll also warn you that in the last month before the wedding - when you think all the spending and paying out is done - there will be a bunch of seemingly small things that will come up and blow out your budget (like realising you need another car for the bridesmaids, discovering your venue wasn't doing your table centrepieces and you'll have to supply them, that sort of thing). Don't panic ( ... )

I'll try not to panic. The wedding organizer I pretty good at breaking everything down. It's a lot to process, but I hope it'll keep me from having any last minute issues, though I'm sure something will come up.

I don't mind reading wedding things. :)

Wow that's a lot to do. I hope you'll be able to find some breathing room and pick the things you guys want.

Reading how you guys met is cute. :)

Cool, because there will definitely be a lot more to come. :)

I'm hoping that with more than a year to plan that we can relax at least a little bit.

We spent about 50k on my wedding and that was with cheap everything except the reception. I bowed to too much cultural pressure.

Wow! It must have been a gorgeous reception at least.:)

Neither Michael and I have any lavish wishes for our reception, so I'm hoping that we can find ways to cut costs in that area.
