I agree that the motel part of the episode was pretty intense, but I don't like the Jennifer/Derek scenes either.
Let's forget that they barely know each other and pretend that there might be some connection already. If I saw him in a state he was, I'd start to fuss, be a huge mother hen, probably talk nonsense and do lots of petting of uninjured parts of his body. Comforting petting! If he started with the sexy times, I doubt I'd be able to enjoy it very much. No, that's just... ugh...
It's pretty clear that shipping Sterek will be very difficult from now on, but that won't stop me. They might not be canon on the show, but they're my canon. :D
Also, I'm absolutely allergic to any Romeo and Juliet references when it's supposed to be romantic. Omg, thirteen year old kids try to elope together, fail at planning and both commit suicide. Not really something I'd like to reproduce in my own love life. I wish everyone just stopped using it as an example of perfect romance.
Yeah, as hot as Derek is, my gross out meter would have kicked in and not wanted to get within a hundred yards of any oozing wounds.
I agree that Romeo and Juliet should not be shorthand for romance; it's a tragedy. An English teacher should recognize that.
I don't think it should be too hard to ship Sterek. Shipped Arthur/Merlin for years despite Arthur/Gwen being shoved in our faces, and I doubt Jennifer will become as important as Gwen.
Agree with like 99% of what you said and I won't bother going back and going "YES! YOU ARE RIGHT" and just rambling about why you are right because nobody wants a 5 page comment, lol. Especially my STILES IS THE HERO! speech. It's like 5 paragraph essay by now, lmao

This season has been top-notched! Truly fantastic. TP did play despaired Scott so incredibly well! I was in awe. That final scene was superb all around.
I have a feeling all the backstory we got will be important later on and that there are things that may have gone unnoticed that will make sense at a later stage.
I just really want to know what happens next! This is why I love marathon-ing shows; there’s no waiting. A week is too long a time sometimes.
LOL I hear you on not being psyched to have to wait a week for the show. I watched the first two seasons in a pretty short span on Netflix and kind of miss that.
From her first ramble, mentioning her therapist, I had a feeling they were trying to position Jennifer as one of those lovably quirky neurotic characters.
YES! I agree with this. I hate how every female character on this show is just one archetype or another.
It seems like I'm the only one who wasn't put off by juxtaposing the sex scene with Scott's meltdown. Idk, it could be because I am not emotionally invested in this show pretty much at all and also that I don't find TP's acting believable. (Shhh, I know. Idk what it is about him. It just doesn't work for me. I think it might be his voice.)
The thing that I remember as being most touching is actually Lydia tackling Stiles and Scott out of the way of the explosion. Lydia really cares for them, to the point where, in a life-threatening emergency, her instinct is to save them and not just herself. That's the thing that makes me all heart-clenchy. I expect Stiles to sacrifice for Scott, but Lydia? That feels like character growth, which is awesome.

I do think part of Ethan's desire to turn Danny are all about him and not the Pack. I think he does really like him and wants to keep him around.

Lydia has definitely grown as a character and it's really interesting watching her becoming more involved in all the werewolf stuff.
