Greedy

Like so many others, over the years I've constantly made a New Year's resolution to try and lose weight. Most years I fail miserably and don't even get to the point to even start trying to lose weight. I've lost weight a few times before, but this year feels different. It probably helps that I got to a weight that I found unacceptable (almost 200 ( Read more... )

Those cramps sound terrible. I wish I could offer advice for something to take but I've no idea.

Yay for weight loss progress! I think you've got a really interesting way of breaking it down into the different goals. Usually I just say "Oh, I want to lose weight" with no real target weight in mind.

And awe, you two sound super cute. I'm glad you've gotten closer.

Fingers crossed for you to be more social at the work party.

Thanks. Hopefully, I don't have those cramps again this month.

I figured breaking it down might help me focus better and not get quite as frustrated with my slow progress.

This is such a great post! First, serious congrats on the weight loss! You're doing amazingly. Weight loss is such a frustrating thing for women, because our bodies have evolved to hang on to every scrap of fat. Just keep going, and remember that everything you do IS worthwhile. Even if you hit a plateau, keep going. That was the mistake I made with my pushups. I was able to do 50 real pushups in a day but I could never get above that, so I gave up. Now it hurts to do 10 in a row. :-( Maintenance is super important, and we need to remember to feel good about the fact that we're still getting up and doing it, even if we're not seeing results the way we want to. Weight loss and strength-building for women is a long game, but the eventual payoff is a longer, healthier life ( ... )

Thanks! I definitely am trying not to get too discouraged. Having the wedding goal keeps me going.

Thanks for the advice. A lot of great examples. The party was alright. I tried to have questions prepared but it didn't go exactly as I'd hoped. But I'm going to keep trying.

Didn't know that about the disability. I'm hoping those types of cramps don't keep re-occurring for me.

It sounded really small to me, too. Usually on most days I try to stick to the goal, but I'm okay with my calorie intake as long as I don't go over 1500. I do remember reading something awhile that 1500 was the minimum for women.

Thanks!

I'm so pleased things are going better with Mike. and that's a great weight loss! Sustainable, healthy and far more likely to stay off than with those extreme diets. :)

Thanks! I definitely want to avoid any extreme diets. I want to make sure I'm not doing just a temporary fix and the weight stays off.
