on the bloomingdale line

So I went to this exhibit/lecture/review tonight at the Northwest Arts Center. Purdue University's Landscape program were having a sort of presentation, as their semester's project was about the revitilization of the Bloomingdale line - an abandoned arm close to the Blue Line that runs along Bloomindale (blvd?) Right now it's overgrone, some of the ( Read more... )

HAHA! I love it.

I wanted your phone number the other day when I got a bad score on my spatial composition final project. It was horrible. They basically said that I got too creative.

Right after that, though, I had my studio final review with the spatial comp professor, and he friggen loved my studio project, so I was a bit less upset.

this brought SO much joy to my night, you have no idea. :D

Get real - I'd like to see you walk 2.75 miles with only a few pieces of rock to look at and see how many times you do it again.

Why does nobody go into the middle of the dance floor? --good question!

2.75 miles would only possibly attract the casual family bicyclist. Headwinds would be characteristic of vast open spaces and that alone would deter them from riding.

I was part of Verde, the team that proposed the bold colored fabric and the point to ignore the ramps up to the trail. Both items were promoted due to our Design Theory. So maybe you should research theory some more and then you can actually understand design. Or just keep writing blogs knocking college kids.

Your opinions matter....? Woe is you, poor person nobody listens to..for good reason anonymous January 28 2009, 23:34:00 UTC
You make a lot of points based on your own worthless experience while bashing people who go to school for many years, to learn how to design spaces. If you would have stayed around for a minute or two and studied the analysis that these students put into this design you would learn that, though you can talk a lot, your words are uninformed and inaccurate(analysis wasn't presented so assholes like you would stay for the whole event). Most students showed pedestrian, vehicular and public transit circulation, open space, zoning, perceived space, studies of the people groups and history and other studies and formed frameworks based on these. Ohh and about your grand ideas of SALT STORAGE, and WIND FARMS, are you joking, why waste prime public space that can connect Yuppity assholes like you with the less fortunate people, which you and your friends will eventually gentrify and displace. Your open space argument is worthless. How often have you seen people filled large lawns in places like central park, NY, Millenium park, Chi, Petrero ( ... )
