The new system was installed over the weekend, which is lovely. So most of this morning is comprised of me making it "mine" - changing the settings to suit my style, downloading Itunes and the like. Brilliant. There are still bugs to be worked out, but it's getting done. Finally... odd shifts -

Just for what it's worth, I'm one of the people that's had a "keeper" disaster. ugh. I think it's a great idea, but all you need is one little gap and SPLOOSH. Pretty scary. Of course, I had an off-brand, so maybe that was the problem. I eventually threw the thing away because I was too chicken to try it again (at least in public), and it wasn't doing me any good under the sink in the bathroom...

So, my advice: use in private first. :)

Good luck! And congrats on the name change officially and all that stuff!

I love snowboarding! I learned I cannot go in the slushy stuff, last time I fell and needed to be ski patroled down the hill and then to the ER

Oy! Sounds like my first go - I got a mild concussion and ended up with a large popeye-like bulge on my lower arm that was quite gross. *laughs* I totally caught the bug though, despite the injury. I can hold my own now for the most part, but am far and away still gaining footing. :)

I get hurt more often than not. A large part of my problem is that I have a little speed control issue (and I am very competitive with my boyfriend, who I began snowboaring with...we started at the same time I should say) I feel I should go faster than I am able to at my control level. But there is nothing better than being out there on a sunny, cool day. And it makes the winter go by faster.

I started as well with my husband, he's surpassed me now by a bit mostly because he's a bit more speed-daring than I am. I think I'm just catching on that the faster you go the easier it is to initiate turns and such... alas as soon as I figure this out the season's about over. lol Do you have your own board? If so, what kind? I just picked up a Burton Face 13 - gorgeous, but challenging, and a pair of last season Lexa bindings - both from an amazing sale - ended up paying $118 for the board and $80 for the bindings. Not a bad buy I don't think...
