WTF!?

There was a shooting today at my kids' high school.  A Freshman was shot a block away from the school around dismissal time, and is in critical condition.  I'm freaking out.  I never had to deal with this kind of thing when I was a teenager.  I'm just... freaking out.

I hope it turns out okay too. Yeah, it's that when I was in school there were fights and such, but I don't ever recall anything ever getting to this level of violence. It's terrible.

Thank you. It does suck and seems to be getting worse. They'll go to school tomorrow, and I've talked to them about what I want them to do, etc. I'll be a wreck while at work thinking about it, I'm sure.

the saddest part is, stuff like this is getting less and less shocking for a lot of people. its starting to get common and that is SCARY

Exactly. It's totally gang related, and I hope that there are no more problems. I can't even imagine being a kid, going to school and being worried that I might get shot. It's horrible.

It's sad when kids can't even go to school without being afraid they might get shot! Jeeze, it's insane. I hope there are no more incidents.
