Got round to connecting broadband cable. Yippee. Might get around to posting more often. Hmmm, am i the only sucker with a steam-operated modem?

No, no... I'm fairly certain there's one attached to the Ex's Mac at Home1.

So Enquiring minds (or at least my slightly flakey one) wants to know if the cable is proving to be effective and financially worth it?

(and is it all nifty and wonderful and able to make the Perfect Cup of Tea at the press of a button?)

Thanks for that! - I've recently changed ISP's to Dodo so I may look into their cable options

Cable broadband internet is only available through Optus and Telstra Bigpong, as far as I now. It uses the coaxial cables for Cable TV and I don't think they lease any part of those networks to other ISP's. ADSL is available through most ISP's now, including Dodo. I have no idea about those options though.
