"Nothing is too wonderful to be true, if it be consistent with the laws of Nature..."
~ Micheal Faraday (1791-1867) Labratory journal entry 10,040 (March 19, 1849)

It is actually pretty old. Faraday was around a long time ago. Still I couldn't say it better myself.

Interesting. Where have all the good philosophers gone nowadays?

Well, Faraday was a physicist actually...maybe all the good philosophers are physicists, huh? Personally, most of my favorite antidotes and thoughts on life, exsistence, and the world come from people that aren't philosophers.

I guess I also really have an affinity for scientific philosophy. Which is just plain wonderful.

There is more to the quote. The full quote is:

"ALL THIS IS A DREAM. Still examine it by a few experiments. Nothing is too wonderful to be true, if it be consistent with the laws of nature; and in such things as these experiment is the best test of such consistency."

True as much as it is poetry.

An interesting thing about Faraday, when he was little his parents thought me might be mentally retarded because of the fact that he couldn't read. He became a book binder and thats how he got good at reading because he would read what he bound, which were mainly science and philosophy texts.
