This is why I love German history so much; it is so horribly sad. But nobody seems to understand me because when they think of German history, they can only see the atrocities of World War II. They do not seem to understand that many Germans did not want to be part of it, but were forced to. Many do not even know of the Wall that separated the country.
Your art captures that moment in history very well, though. The colors and emotion on both their faces.... But isn't Ludwig taller than Prussia?
Yeah, a lot of people only think of Nazis and genocide when they think of German history ._. It makes me kinda sad, because there it's so much more than just that. And we did suffer, too.
Thank you very much =) And yes, Ludwig is taller than Gilbert, but I guess it's a matter of perspective here Or Gilbert is standing on a small hill or something xD *cough*
Thank you very much for your thoughts and the compliment =) And yes, Ludwig is taller than Gilbert, but he's bend forward here and it's a matter of perspective here I guess ^^°
First: I love the art! Their postures, the facial expressions, and the colors really make it memorable^^ Second: I entirely agree with you on your interpretation. It's kind of strange to try to talk with people about German history when all a lot of them think or know about are the WW2 atrocities, but it's quite a marvel to see their expressions and interests be sparked when they hear about the reality of the Berlin Wall. A very sad story indeed, but that's one reason I love Hetalia: it helps make the story stand out to others who aren't all that strong in history can visualize it, and your piece does just that. :3
The Switzerland and Austria one is adorable! The quote is also quite endearing~
BAW your Austria is adorable. And I really like the crows on the first one. They're super cool looking. Also, Prussia and Germany both just look bad-A. :) Nicely done.
