Worrying never changes anything? So why worry?

What sort of evolutionary quirk allowed us to experience such an uncomfortable thing if it has no purpose? I've decided worrying has a purpose. When I figure it out I'll let you know, so long as I don't stop worrying first...

worrying keeps us on our toes. in some cases, it makes us do better because there is the fear that things wont work out unless we give it our all. in essence, it makes the world go round. worry is a thing that makes us closer to our lives. we feel very much alive when we have something to look forward to, good or bad. worry makes us aware of our lives, which connects us to other peoples lives. i dont know, i just pulled that out of my ass, and i woke up like 15 min ago, so...im going to stop writing before it stops making sense.
