The ones I could answer anyway! There are more I still can't answer. :( but will as soon as I can. Feel free to
ask anything that might happen to cross your mind. As you have probably figured out by now, we (I am including the characters here) will answer just about anything!
The text in a smaller italic font is added here on LJ only as extra thoughts that have occurred to me since I originally answered the question.
1. What was it that made you pick Ripp and Tybalt to be gay? Character reasons, story reasons, or was it just random choices?
ACR's gender preference randomizer. When I first loaded the hood I ran the randomizer on everyone. (Yup, even those already in relationships ... some fun stuff came out of that, let me tell you! But really, who hasn't suspected Mortimer Goth of being just a little bit gay? >.> ... Just me then?)
From there it was just a matter of fitting in the random choices with the characters. I think it works for them, for the characters they have grown into and posed some interesting challenges for me to work with. I like challenges. :D
2. Weird. UR doin it right.
“Don’t look at me like that.”
“Look at you like what?”
“Like you think I’m weird or something.”
“I don’t think you’re weird.”
“You just always wear that shirt with the sleeves too long,”and you have nice hands and I wondered … Shit. That sounds really bad doesn’t it?”
“I don’t know if I would say ‘bad’ so much as …”
“Really gay,”
“Gay?”
“Not gay as in ‘oh my god that is so gay’. Gay like, queer gay, but not like weird queer ..."
... What? Post this on Lyric Sunday, day of quotes and lyrics and expect me to not reply WITH a quote? Psh!
3. You are writing letters to your characters. What do you say?
I had to think about this one for a while, both to figure out what I wanted to say and who I wanted to say it to and ... to avoid spoilers :/
Answers can be found
here.
4. I don't mean to cause wank so please don't take it that way. Only there was a secret a few months ago about your version of Malcolm and the OP said they thought maybe you were a guy. Are you? Your male characters are so convincing.
Okay, now that I have finished laughing. No I am really not a guy. Really!
Now in all fairness I can sort of see where this would come from. I have never really been able to identify with women in general. I don't have any idea where the average woman is coming from. They baffle the hell out of me and usually only serve to confound my overall social ineptitude. Men on the other hand, they make perfect sense and I love them to itty, bitty, little pieces.
I guess this is why my male characters are convincing (They are? I kind of figured they were just people at best ... *shrug*) My whole life I have always had more male friends than female. Even when I was younger and hanging with my girls most of them were guys (And let me tell you, some of them could pull off looks I could only ever dream of! Which is so NOT fair! They should NOT look better in a skirt than I do! It was okay though, I was totally the one with the better hair and nails *nod*).
So if my male characters are at all convincing I owe it entirely to the many wonderful, open men in my life that wouldn't hesitate to answer my sometimes very off the wall questions or often forgot I really was a girl (Totally looking at you Sean!)
I would also like to add here (though I did not on formspring) that while this question does not offend me personally, I am very difficult to offend, I can see a similar question offending others. It is assuming the entire world is based solely on a binary model of gender identity and that is simply not the case. Please keep this in mind should you ever find yourself in a position where you feel you need to ask a question like this. :)
5. what boolprop codes or other cheats do you use?
The ones I use ALL the time, every time, without exception?
moveObjects on
boolprop snapobjectstogrid false
boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true
and finally (remember to disable this one before you go into CAS) boolprop useEffects false. (this removes plumbob glow effects, [possibly the plumbob as well, I am not sure as I have a mod that removes all plumbobs from the game including the neighbourhood screens], chat bubbles, thought bubbles, weather effects, food effects, flies, insects, etc ... about the only thing it does not remove is the information windows. Everything else that is "effect based" is removed this includes ALL of CAS)
Now, occasionally, when I remember I will also add in boolprop dontMergeNHFlora false and get all the pretty trees from the hood visible in the shots too! I like when I remember, but I don't remember often. I could put it in userstartup.cheats and not have to remember ... yes .. .only every time I have tried to edit that (followed the directions and everything!) my game wouldn't load, or crashes on load or gets stuck in an infinite load loop.
I don't edit userstartup.cheats. VBTs happen.
6. For Rick. Do you live at home still and if not why not? Also where do you work?
Rick: Uh ... Am I allowed to answer this yet?
Kate: NO!
(Chapter 6! Really!)
7. I asked a question weeks ago and you didn't answer it does that mean the answer would have been a spoiler?
You would be correct. :)
Sorry :(
8. I have just finished getting caught up and reading "Baby" and I hafta ask! Will we ever be seeing more of Lyla? I think I love her.
Would you like to see more of Lyla? Because honestly I had one hell of a time keeping "Baby" as short as it wasn't. It seems Ripp's tendency to grab me by the ears and say "This is my story. WRITE IT!" was inherited from his mother.
9. Have you read the sims_anon Ripp/Tel prompt response yet? If yes plz tell me it is canon compliant. Plz, plz. pleeeeeeze.
There is a strong possibility that a startling amount of that sims_anon prompt response is canon compliant.
