Its good to see that monks do nice damage on JoL. I have never chi-blasted anything in Sea but it looks like JoL takes damage very similar to Kirin which is great since we got screwed on the CoP Wyrms. 3 MNKs with Penance + KC Drk would really get damage flowing with (hopefully) not too much TP... hate would be something else though.

Yes that half damage on the 3 CoP wyrm was just kinda stupid in my opinion.
Chi blast gives no TP at all to the mob but KC would give plenty even with penance from 3 monks and since it doesn't stack but it gets overwritten it would be hard to keep it synchronized for very long between multiple monks.
I guess KC damage from a DRK can be nice but sea NMs have very bad tp moves compared to things like aspi so I don't know if it would be particularly worth it.

Yea KC Drks die way to fast and doing damage and getting killed isn't much of a strategy really cause it only works if you got enough people to throw at it and the rest of alliance is stable.

Oh I have a couple parses of MNK/NIN vs. Ridill WAR/NIN in merit situations and I can say that Ridill = Black Belt if both are equally merited and equipped. Adaman Hauberk + Ridill may equal BB MNK/WAR but I haven't parsed those two against each other.

NIN/WAR can get within 4-5% of MNK/NIN if you have 2 BRDs or NIN can reach attack cap of mob. But honestly one of the few jobs that can compete with MNK/WAR might be SAM/WAR who uses TP at 100% with high damage/acc. MNK damage is just too consistent. Each punch and WS don't vary much so jobs with large spike damage just can't compete because a miss really brings down the average.

Within two hours of getting the new update I finally got my thief's knife and when I did I couldn't be happier. The value can drop and drop and drop for all I care, it means so much more to me than I could put a value on it.

On Ragnarok the Upper Delkfut's situation isn't too bad, if you're selective of when you go up to farm. My friends and I had a blast farming for the items one night (0/2 Alky 1/6 on Pallas) and we even got to kill a charmed gilseller.

Well I understand what you mean, but I think you know what I mean too.
Many people in the game put extra value on items because they are hard to get or rare or monopolized by gilsellers. Treasure hunter+1 might be one of the best things in the game, although it's even hard to tell exactly how much of an impact it really has, if it works well on rare ex items too etc. Still no matter how great it might be, if everyone has it, it just becomes as neutral as the normal treasure hunter2 trait that all THFs get.

About the pop I still think it will get better and better everywhere, if people are not in a rush to get it and know that gilsellers can't monopolize it anymore (because they would have to really claim all mobs 24/7), the price will keep going down and down, until it equals the inconvenience of going to get one yourself.

Yeah, I do understand the extra special value on getting an item that's difficult to get. I can't say I agree with SE about making it 100% drop and really wonder how they could continue it.

I agree about the forced pops myself. When the ferver dies down I might try for some bracelets of my own.

I was wondering how you got the multiple skillups on one fish. Was this from wearing two pelican rings and activating both enchantments?

Thanks, and keep monking :)

(I'm currently leveling monk as a counter-tank, having great fun with it at level 50)

No it was from wearing a single pelican ring. You get skillups normally without any rings, plus a chance of getting an extra one with the ring.
