This sounds pretty interesting man. I'll see if I can find some time to run some tests in the near future.

Definitely, the more data the better. Just be careful about how you set them up (I mention this in more details in my earlier tests).
For example it's best if you kill each monster with a ws to avoid interrupting an attack round, record your accuracy, gear, enemy, and if you are testing something specific get a control test or base reading too, etc.

So it seems that from these initial tests, contribution from AF2 is at most 3-4% like you mentioned before. What would be curious to look at would be the crit hit rate between the Byakko and Melee Hose in the general (scheme of things) for DOT purposes -- unless you have that somewhere already.

Do you plan to do more tests regarding kick attacks?

I am a little burned out on tests especially on these same mobs, if I do more tests it will be on mixed mobs while doing something else I guess, but having to use boreas cesti and making sure you kill with a ws to avoid interrupting an attack round is kinda of a pain.

Crit attacks increase in all these tests from byakko was around 10% which is very nice, especially because the critical rate increase happens on all attacks, including kicks (which go up to 219 instead of just 189 damage).

The significant difference between the critical rate % on byakkos vs melee hose puts byakko's on the better edge.

Definitely. I have a post on that too (DEX and crit%). I just did these tests to learn more about kick attack rates in general.

What about "Counter+1"? anonymous May 22 2007, 17:37:01 UTC
Segasaturn(MNK75) of Valefor: could this mean the same thing for "Counter+#" stuff? i was just wondering because its the same thing on merits its "Counter+1%" but all gear has "Counter+1" with no %.
Just a thought from a MNK and a fan of your work.
ty for your time

I can't say for sure, it could be, counter is another thing that's kinda hard to test just because people don't wear much counter+ gear in normal XP PTs and try not to get hit too much. At least though any parser can measure counters well since the log itself gives a specific message about it ( ... )
