Me fascina que las liricas de Shakira siempre contienen alusiones al Biblio.

interesting. we practiced for our AP/IB spanish tests by transcribing Shakira songs. I am currently repeating this old practice out of boredom.

Our AP/IB teacher made us sing the songs as practice. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if we ever translated the songs, but we sung them anyway.

We just had to write the words down as we heard them, and then tell the teacher what we thought the song was about overall, and discuss that in English. My Spanish teacher was very shrewd in that the only time we were actually translating or speaking Spanish she had a timer and a task, just like the testing environment. What I've started to realize is that this helped us all do great on the AP but it did not create fluency.

Interesante. No me doy cuenta de eso.

"liricas" = "letras"

quizás 'siempre' fue una palabra excesivamente fuerte. I was listening to "te aviso" when I posted this, there is also "pies descalzos."

not "te aviso", "la tortura" is the one. I especially like the phrase "prueba de patada" in the chorus because I understand it immediately but it's not really translatable.
