I'm rather disconcerted. You see, every few years (it might be 3 or so, or it might be up to 9 or 10), my fandom focus shifts. The current focus gently subsides into the background and often a new one comes to the fore. The old one never disappears, and it remains a beloved thing, but it doesn't receive the immediate attention that it used to

Yeah... and that is pretty much what I've been doing. It's just that given I've always hated clothes shopping, and shoe shopping is a dreaded exercise I try to put off for as many years as possible (the only pair of pumps I own I bought in 1986. Actually, I think I don't even have them any more). So I've taken a certain pride in not following the practices of much of my gender's Western population.

I wouldn't worry about it. I went thru a ball-gown phase, myself. It ran parallel to part of my Star Trek phase and much of my Elfquest phase quite happily, without eclipsing either of them. {wink, SMILE}

And wedding dresses are sparkly, even more than ball-gowns. {SMILE}

Wedding dresses are very sparkly. If they weren't, they wouldn't have entered on my radar, I think.
