It does happen a lot still. Working at Whole Foods, we push the 'healthy' stuff come the new year--bran muffins, granola, the Whole Body department gets 'detox' kits in. All sorts of that crap. The Food Network is even running extra episodes of their 'healthy eating shows' (and running comporable episodes from the rest of there shows).
Not really, no. There certainly ARE those people who are very much...umm...in tune with the company's 'core values' but there are plenty who are here to make good food, and plenty more who just want a paycheck. So long as you work well I don't think anybody is too terribly worried.
I don't bother with proper New Years Resolutions, beyond my general resolution of "make this year awesomer than the year before". For the past few years running, I've been successful, I think :-p

I don't make resolutions because they're really meant to be broken. Kinda like promises that way. lol Setting goals though... is something I believe in because you can always work towards them. It's probably just semantics though.
In regards to weight I've made it a goal to become fit, not thin. I don't want a super sculpted body because I don't find that to be attractive at all and I'd like to be able to... well... like myself lol.

Yeah, I like the idea of "being healthier" not "lose weight." Cause honestly, might start eating right and stay right where I'm at. Stupid tv trying to sell me dumb products =P
This year, I put a novel spin on the tired old resolution thing. I realize that if you make any sort of resolution that restricts or in any way has you radically change your lifestyle, the temptation to stray from it down the road will be all the more intense.
So my resolution was kept a bit broad, while at the same time having to require SOME effort to keep. I decided that I'm gonna be prudent and have conviction when it comes to important decisions I make about my health. Prudent to make the right decisions and conviction to help me keep them.
That, and to not get as fucked up (drinking) as I did on New Year's Eve.
Resolutions? Never saw a point to those. I just live my life with no real expectations or plans because usually those can be changed any minute... [other than expecting disappointments in life, I expect nothing else.]
So why make a resolution? So you can pretend to feel better about something and then forget about it months later? It just seems odd to me.

I've always wondered if it's a "live the lifestyle" type of place.
