Tonight aloniel and I went to the Burnaby Public Forum of the Citizen's Assembly on Electoral Reform. I went with my research done and opinions mostly formed. We all gather at the lake every 4-5 years, and throw the politicians in. If they float, they get into office (no matter how many people need to share that office; IKEA has great space-saving ideas.) If they sink, we dredge the lake and burn them. Good times. And lollies for the kids!

In the aftermath of the HEU strike, I think that government employees should have their wages linked to politician wages. If a politician wants to cut HEU wages by 15%, then the politicians have to as well. Similarly, if times are good and the politician wants an increase, then everyone benefits.

It is an issue in my federal gov't job where senior management was given 5% this year and the Treasury Board is offering union folk 1.25%, which doesn't even cover the cost of living. And this in a time when the Liberals are reporting surpluses.
