The other day my cat, Whizzy, had to be put to sleep. I knew the little bastard a long time, he was 20 years old. Later that day, riding the bus, I happened to open a book of Hart Crane poems to the following and started bawling on the damn bus ( Read more... )

There are few things more beautiful to me than the unabashed love that a sleeping cat radiates, while curled up in my bed.

Again, I am very sorry about your loss, though it is clear you had a long and lovely friendship to look back upon.

sorry the time came for you to say goodbye to your buddy Whizzy, George.
after we had to put one of our cats down a few year ago, it was hard to see a little patch of shed fur when I would clean- it's start the tears flowing..
One day, maybe not soon, you may feel ready to adopt another cat who needs to meet you.
20 years, what a good long life in cat years...
