R.L. Burnside has a new album out, A Bothered Mind. It is the most beatiful mix of delta and Chicago blues, old-school hip hop and rock that I've ever heard. OK, like Jimi "Hear My Train a' Comin" or "Voodoo Chile" mojo? Those be the climax by which I measure the delta/chicago blues-rock synthesis. But old-school hip hop in the mix? Are we talking Sugarhill Gang / Run DMC / Grandmaster Flash old-school? Hmmm, pushes my imagination. Must explore. Thanks.
