Weekend in Biloxi

Went to Biloxi this past week end for buffaloeater's birthday.  Of course debgirl001 was also there.  Went through Tuscaloosa, Meridian, and Haitesburg to get there, and of course did some geocaching.  Got 13 caches before it go dark.  Then on Saturday, we did some more caches in the Biloxi area.  Got another 27.  The most memorable was one called "Smiles and Giggles ( Read more... )

Have you gone paperless yet? The number of caches per outing went up considerably once we had them in our palm pilot and could organize them. MUCH easier...

I download the caches that interest me directly into my GPS via geocache.com. It's pretty cool. My GPS displays the cache as a little treasure chest and once I find it the treasure chest appears opened.

I suppose it's the simple fact that I generally choose caches that are a three or more hour hike (one way) to reach that limits the number I can do in a day.

I sure enjoy it, though!

I'm headed to Bryce Canyon National Park in a couple weeks for several days. I'm sure there's some prime geocaching waiting for me there.

Sounds like you got a GPSmap 60. G has one of those. D has a 10 year old emap.

When I say paperless, we add 500 caches, with all the descriptions, at a time into our palm pilot. Then we don't have to print anything out. But if you like the long hikes, what you're doing is working good for you.

We go in mostly for the urban caches, and an occasional hike in the woods, although that is normally in the winter when the poison ivy isn't.
