I went for a Kayak trip this weekend with a friend. It wasn't much of a trip since I started at home and finished at home three hours later, but it was a four mile paddle down Lake Washington. I left my phone (and it's gps and camera) at home, but I used Google maps to draw a representation of the path I took. I was hoping to work on self rescue ( Read more... )

This weekend, I waited in line for almost half a day. On Friday, I joined a line to get an iPhone at the AT&T store. The line wasn't long, but AT&T either isn't able to get phones or is incapable of estimating demand. They ran out of 16G models as I approached the end of the line. I have thoroughly misplaced a pair of cycling pants (aka spandex with a cushioned seat). It seems almost impossible to lose a pair of riding pants because my rides always start and finish at home. My friend is having a kidney transplant today. I'm glad that a living donor offered their's to him and am thankful of the scientists who have made this type of surgery possible. Without their efforts, the outcome would be much more grim ( Read more... )

Why do U.S. coins say, "In God We Trust?" Shouldn't they have a safety warning? "Caution Choking Hazard"

With all of the law suits over injuries and deaths toxic toys, small devices, plastic bags, spilt hot coffee, etc adding this statement to small change seems imperative.
