Top 10 Countdown - 2013 Year in Review
2013 has been an eventful year for this community. In honor of the new year fast approaching, I've compiled the top ten biggest posts of the year, as according to the amount of discussion - the number of comments - on each post.
10. Cockroaches are so loli
the-milk-eyed-mender on tumblr posts about bringing her pet cockroach to a meetup. Hilarity, horror, and confusion ensues.
9. MisterLolita is a bad mod / Behind the Bows in General
MisterLolita, a mod of Behind the Bows, removes a secret by request, when she previously denied removing a racist secret and claiming that no secrets would be removed. People go crazy about her backpeddling and others complain about the secrets being late to be posted.
8. IfWinterEnds shows up being incredibly racist about Japanese lolitas
One of the many posts about ___ifwinterends this year. This particular post targets her comment that "most Japanese girls who wear lolita are ugly." and specifically targets a women who works at Angelic Pretty Harajuku. This is perhaps when most people put ___ifwinterends on their "really shitty people" lists.
7. The epitome of noob posts
A typical noob post in the beginning of the year, but it is so bad that most people dismiss it as a troll. Said noob/troll finds the GTFO post for her and apparently "Misako chan, Mana sama, and Maki and Asuka sama are going to be ashamed of all of you westerners ruining their fashion"
6. LSE Drama
A girl by the name of Barbie harasses sellers on Lolita Sales English on Facebook, claiming that "trying to sell DAMAGED USED socks for $40 is silly". She rudely implies that the seller is rude and reminds them that the post is public. rocketlaunching points out that her facebook pictures are also public. She is a gogo dancer, apparently.
5. Scalping and Bitchiness
Seller tries to sell Sugary Carnival JSK for $500 but make a typo, saying it's $200 shipped to anywhere besides North America. When people ask if seller is for real, he becomes a bitch, saying it was "obviously a typo" and even replying to one prospective buyer with simply "Reading comprehension," which is particularly funny, because their reading comprehension was spot on, and OP's typing comprehension was what needs work.
4. Holley Tea Time can't sew
Although well known for her cute accessories, seller Holley Tea Time apparently can't sew dresses. Here's a review of a dress she made that looks very different from the stock picture and looks just plain bad. She used different lining fabrics with a sheer overlay, making parts of the bodice yellow. The comparison pictures are so bad that they are funny. Also, Holley is rude to the reviewer, as with most shitty sellers.
3. Ifwinterends is at it again
No surprise to anyone, ___ifwinterends is a raging bitch yet again, this time being needlessly rude to a newbie. (I think? Her comments were screened, unfortunately.)
2. Slutshaming galore
Noob post bawwing about her school's dresscode, and then kikikikida comes in with "It absolutely infuriates me that modest women like you and me should be mistreated by staff and faculty based on how we're dressed, and the fact that we're different, when every fricken teenage girl in the world gets away with wearing shorts so short their asscheeks hang out." Hell breaks loose. Also she compares dresscode violation to murder and rape. What a lovely girl.
1. Kai Narita
Finally, our biggest post of the year, coming in with an amazing 278 comments, is the Kai Narita scandal. This member of the Boston comm scammed several others, lies about it, claims to have been hacked, and refuses to return the items because she just plain doesn't want to. Her method of scamming was buying items, and then once they arrive, using the "unauthorized transaction" feature on paypal to have her money returned and keep the items. Also she's ita and has "lolita personas" that are equally ita and bitchy.
Let us rejoice the closing of the year with pictures of our queen, lady of the year, Kai Narita.
